THE CLIENT: AppleInsider - SEO Strategy for Lasting Rankings 

Challenge:

AppleInsider faced a significant issue with their news articles. While these articles initially performed well in search engine rankings, their positions would "fade" over time as the articles aged. This led to a decline in sustained traffic and visibility for key content. 

Solution:

THE FREEMAN AGENCY assessed the current SEO situation and identified the need for more stable, evergreen content to complement the news articles. We embarked on a comprehensive SEO strategy focused on building SEO-purposed static content aimed at achieving and maintaining rankings for desired keywords. 

IMPLEMENTATION: 

We collaborated closely with AppleInsider's editorial team to develop over 160 Apple-centric static content pieces. These articles were crafted to be timeless resources on various Apple products and topics, ensuring they remained relevant and valuable to users over time. Each piece was optimized for SEO to target specific keywords and search intents effectively. Additionally, we provided and continue to provide weekly consulting sessions, offering ongoing training for their team and evaluating content performance. 

We also continually provided performance evaluations and monitoring of SEO rankings, adapting to changes in Google's algorithms and making necessary adjustments. Our team assisted in prioritizing editorial resources towards content that would yield the highest return on investment. 

RESULTS:

The new library of static content significantly improved AppleInsider's search engine performance. The site experienced a substantial increase in traffic, with volumes exceeding 500,000 visits per month to the newly developed content. This not only stabilized their ranking positions but also enhanced overall user engagement and visibility. 

CONCLUSION: 

Through strategic development of SEO-optimized static content, ongoing performance evaluations, and continuous adaptation to changing algorithms, AppleInsider successfully mitigated the issue of fading article rankings. This approach ensured consistent traffic growth and sustained visibility in search engine results, reinforcing their position as a leading source for Apple-related news and information. 

THE DATA:

The specific keywords and URLs in the chart are blurred to maintain confidentiality. 

However, you can see by the length of the blurs that the keywords are mostly short in length (single words). 

While only 15 of the total 199,238 keywords are listed in the chart one exceeds 2M in search volume per month, Three exceed 1.2M, six exceed 450k, The remainder all exceed 60K.
